On this REC episode, artists, researchers and professors Ionat Zurr and Sofian Audry are invited to join us in a conversation about the subject Emergence/y, theme proposed by Hexagram for the international festival Ars Electronica 2021, A New Digital Deal. Discovering each other motivates the dialogue between Zurr and Audry, focusing on their main research aspects: from biological arts to artificial intelligence, from semi-living entities to art at the age of machine learning, from the artist’s role to the function of art regarding the development of Science and Technology Studies (STS).

Ionat Zurr - Artist, Professor and Chair of the Fine Arts Discipline at the School of Design and academic coordinator of SymbioticA at the School of Human Sciences at the University of Western Australia (UWA), in Perth.

Sofian Audry - Artist, professor of Interactive Media within the School of Media at the University of Québec in Montréal (UQÀM), and co-director of the Hexagram Network for Research-Creation in Art, Culture and Technology.
